The Expertise Behind Your Care

Caroline Obregon, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner | Founder of NeuroSalud Psychiatry

At NeuroSalud Psychiatry, exceptional mental health care begins with connection. We believe every individual deserves to feel heard, understood, respected, and empowered throughout their mental wellness journey.

Meet Caroline Obregon, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of nursing experience and a background spanning emergency and trauma medicine, psychiatric care, and the treatment of complex mental health conditions.

Caroline began her healthcare career as a registered nurse, spending nearly a decade working in high-acuity, Level I trauma and emergency care settings. These experiences shaped her ability to approach patient care with clinical precision, compassion, and a deep understanding of the connection between physical and mental health.

Since becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in 2019, Caroline has dedicated her practice to helping individuals navigate a wide spectrum of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, mood instability, substance use disorders, and serious mental illness.

Experience Across Every Stage of Life

Caroline's clinical background includes working with adolescents, adults, and older adults across diverse psychiatric settings, including community mental health programs, outpatient psychiatric services, intensive community-based treatment teams, and long-term care facilities.

Her experience includes working with individuals facing complex psychiatric conditions, treatment-resistant symptoms, co-occurring substance use disorders, and significant psychosocial challenges.

Through her work with multidisciplinary treatment teams and individuals requiring higher levels of psychiatric support, Caroline has developed a comprehensive understanding of the importance of individualized treatment, continuity of care, and thoughtful medication management.

She also brings experience in child and adolescent psychiatry, recognizing the unique emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges faced by young people as they navigate school, relationships, identity, and major life transitions.

A Personalized, Evidence-Based Approach

Caroline believes psychiatric treatment should extend beyond simply managing symptoms. Her approach focuses on understanding each patient's experiences, lifestyle, challenges, strengths, and personal goals.

By integrating evidence-based psychopharmacology with supportive therapeutic interventions, including principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, and mindfulness, she works collaboratively with patients to develop realistic, sustainable treatment plans.

Her clinical philosophy emphasizes thoughtful prescribing, patient education, shared decision-making, and empowering individuals to take an active role in their mental health care.

Her goal is not simply to help patients feel better, but to help them function better, build emotional resilience, and experience meaningful improvements in their quality of life.

Compassionate Care Without Language Barriers

Ms. Obregon brings a multicultural perspective to psychiatric care and understands the importance of culturally responsive treatment.

As a bilingual psychiatric provider fluent in English and Spanish, she is passionate about helping bridge gaps in access to mental health services and creating an environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds feel comfortable seeking care.

At NeuroSalud Psychiatry, patients can expect professional, confidential, and personalized psychiatric care delivered with warmth, respect, and clinical expertise.
